Donna Eighmey

Donna “”D.K”” Eighmey, 80 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on December 24, 2020 in  Ebeid Hospice Sylvania, OH. The daughter of Fred and Clara (Bollinger) Schmidt she was born on October 9, 1940 in Temperance, MI.

Donna married the love of her life Harold Eighmey. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. She attended Whiteford Wesleyan Church. Donna worked for 15 years at Francis Foods in the meat department, but was a homemaker at heart, making the best homemade pies, and noodles.  She played guitar and wrote music as well as sang at church at times. Donna liked mushrooming, fishing, working in her flower beds,  drawing and painting picture puzzles, tractor pulls and spending time with her family.   

Donna is survived by her loving 3 children, Dennis (Kim) Eighmey, Angela (Ed) Bojanowski and Scott (Tammy) Eighmey; 5 grandchildren, Jim(Corey) Ness, Eric Eighmey, Ethin Eighmey, Kay (Chad) Ryan and Callie (Kurtis) Lucht  that she spent many hours watching and playing with, they were her whole world; 4 great-grandchildren that lit up her life, Hannah and Cheyenne Ness and Nathan and Emily Ryan; sisters, Mary Segur, Velda Seger and Janet May; brothers, Norman (Martha) Schmidt and Arnold (Joyce) Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Eighmey; son-in-law, Robert Ness; brothers, Lawrence Schmidt and Raymond (Eileen) Schmidt.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Whiteford Wesleyan Church 10285 Sylvania-Petersburg Road Ottawa Lake, MI 49267. Due to Covid 19 masks are required during the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI 48182.
