Donna M. DeVerna, 92 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. The daughter of Thomas Glenn and Winifred Marie (Robinson) Clever she was born September 8, 1930 in Toledo, OH.
Donna grew up and lived her whole life in Lambertville. She helped out in the family business Clever’s Market, which is now Tony’s Country Store, starting when she was just a child. A 1948 graduate of Bedford High School, she worked as a payroll clerk at Tiedtkes Department Store until marrying her sweetheart, Stanley in 1949 in Lambertville United Methodist Church. Donna then became a stay-at-home mom and helped out her husband with his business, DeVerna Associates. When her children were grown, she started a career in banking as a teller at Deerfield State Bank, currently KeyBank, in Lambertville, working up to branch manager before retiring. After retiring she then started another career selling furniture at American Oak Creations.
She spent many years as a leader for Darla’s Campfire Girls Troup. Her true love was family. She was a loving matriarch always hosting holiday and birthday gatherings.
Donna is survived by her loving daughter, Darla (Bill) Pawliski, daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Denny) DeVerna; grandchildren, Tom (Brandy Grisier) DeVerna, Danielle (John) Linfield, Angela (Justin) Sawasky, William T. Pawliski; great-grandchildren, Grace and Nathan Linfield, Kaylee and Quentin Sawasky, and Jaxson Pawliski. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley and son, Dennis.
Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
