Douglas DeWitt Kish, 76 years of Lambertville, MI, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, in Promedica Ebeid Hospice. The son of John and Geraldine (Silverthorne) Kish, he was born September 11, 1946, in Flint, MI. In 1964 he graduated from Bedford High School, where he played baseball and basketball. He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Johnson, in 1966.
In 1995 he graduated from Washtenaw Community College. Doug retired from Tecumseh Products where he worked as a lab technician in the Engineering Department for 36 years.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet; children, Doug (Jodi) Kish, Dave (Kelly) Kish, Jolaine (Rick) Petersen; much loved grandchildren, Kiersten Petersen, Kendall Petersen, Mason Kish, and Leona Kish; and his sister, Theola (Vic) Brown in Colorado.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church, 5840 Monroe St, Sylvania, OH., where visiting will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Olivet Lutheran Church.
Special thank you to the wonderful nurses at Ebeid Hospice, and his long-time doctor John Zona, who saw him through so much. And especially to the army of prayer warriors who never stopped lifting him up and supporting him.
