Eileen M. (Dressel) Adoline, age 90, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living Center, Lambertville, MI.
Eileen was born June 10, 1924 to the late Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Nusbaum) Dressel in Temperance, MI. She was the youngest of their ten children. Eileen was a lifelong resident of Temperance. She was also a life parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
January 13, 1945 Eileen married the love of her life, Leo Adoline, Jr., of Toledo, Ohio in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Eileen had many wonderful experiences with Leo. He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps, stationed at various locations.
After Leo’s honorable discharge from the Army Air Corps, the married couple returned to Temperance to build their new life together. Eileen became a wonderful homemaker and mother of two children, Larry and Colleen Adoline.
Eileen was a lifetime member of the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association. She also was a member of the St. Martin’s Circle and The Christian Mothers of St. Anthony’s Parish. She enjoyed watching and participating in dancing of any type. She especially liked ballroom dancing, line dancing and square dancing. She also enjoyed painting and sold real estate for a brief period. Eileen and Leo often entertained in their home. They hosted many family events including family reunions, birthdays, etc.
Eileen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Eileen and Leo loved each other very much during their marriage of 69 years.
She is survived by her lifetime love, Leo Adoline, Jr.; their two children, Larry (Gayle) and Colleen Adoline; four grandchildren, Brian, Brittney, Scott and Lisa as well as great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and wife, Gene and Roxanne Adoline and many nieces and nephews. Eileen was Godmother to several. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and nine older siblings. The family is sure that God is witnessing a wonderful reunion.
Visitation will be in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 2 pm – 8 pm with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 am where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the donor’s charity of choice. Special Thanks to the many caregivers that have provided loving care to Eileen throughout her illness. Thank you to a Special friend of the family, Amy Shideler, who cared for Eileen from the onset of her illness. Betty Lavoy, who also cared for Eileen in the Adoline home. Thank you to The entire staff of Aspen Grove Assisted Living, where Eileen lived for the last 4 years and received Excellent care. Thanks to Promedica Erie West Hospice, with a special thank you to “Joanne”, Eileen’s hospice nurse.
