Ellen Irene Strauss, 75 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 in her home. The daughter of Harvey and Irene (Craven) Luce, she was born August 16, 1948 in Toledo, OH.
She married the love of her life, Louis Strauss, in June 1977. After raising children, they found a love of camping at the Jellystone Park Campground in Pierceton, IN. Many memories and lifetime friends were made over 20+ years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brady Kesling and Stacey (Ed) Franks; grandchildren, Noah and Logan Butts and Parker Kesling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; son, Brian Kesling; and brother, Terry Luce.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in Forest Cemetery, Toledo.
While her health declined in the last few years, her smile never faded. Ellen made friends everywhere she went with a funny comment and a giggle. She was definitely not run over by a reindeer, but we are all hoping that she finally gets her hippopotamus for Christmas!
