Ellsworth E. Brockway, age 88 years, of Petersburg, MI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH. Born on September 3, 1927 and raised on the family homestead in Petersburg, Ellsworth was the son of Emery and Nellie (Huffman) Brockway.
He worked for Shinkle’s Flower Shop and Greenhouse in Temperance for over 30 years. Ellsworth enjoyed listening to country and bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, stringing beads, and attending church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Flossie (Cousino); daughters, Janet Brockway of Petersburg, Marilyn Pifer of Blissfield, MI, Tina (Robert) Busby of Dundee, MI; son, Darrell Brockway of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Eric (Alyson) Pifer of Jasper, MI, Gregory Busby of Monroe, MI and Jaclyn Busby of Dundee, MI; sister, Cathryne Good of Petersburg, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Robert; his parents; three brothers, James, Charles, and Walter; sisters, Virginia Walters, Helen Walters, and Dorothy Kurutz.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s BedfordFuneral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where the Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.
