Eugenia P. Hodnicki

Eugenia P. Hodnicki, 93 years, of Erie, MI passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in the Bedrock Rehab and Nursing Center in Live Oak, FL. The daughter of Walter and Julia (Nowak) Godlewski she was born February 14, 1931 in Toledo, OH.

Eugenia married Stanley G. Hodnicki on November 6, 1948 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie. He preceded her in death July 23, 2004. A full-time homemaker, she also worked part time for Lottie Grotz Polish Catering in Toledo and Toledo Scale.

​An avid reader, Eugenia also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She volunteered at the Lions Den in Temperance and Knights of Columbus Bingo at St. Joseph’s Church where she was a member and a member of the Lady Knights.

​She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Michelle) Hodnicki of LaSalle, MI, Mary Vordeburg of Luna Pier, MI, Annette Selph of Live Oak, FL; grandchildren, Amber Vordeburg, Ashley (Mike) Gildersleeve, Stephanie (Ernie) Shiver, Shannon (Christian) Hyers and Bradley Mehan; great-granddaughter, Molly Mehan; sister, Diane (Danny) Gautz; and sister-in-law, Patricia Dusseau. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Walter and James Godlewski; sister, Sally (Fred) Vogler and sister-in-law, Sandra Tracy.

​Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Erie, MI.
