Gary Thomas Eaton, age 78, of Temperance, MI passed away October 19, 2016 from his long year struggle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1938 to the late Lyle and Mildred (Chaney) Eaton in Toledo, Ohio.
Gary attended Libbey High School and graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Gary honorably served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He retired from the Dana Corp after 30 years at the age of 49.
Gary was a member of the Glass City Toledo Coin Club since 1969. He loved watching his cooking shows, Dancing with the Stars, and playing black jack at the casino. His passion was for cooking and gardening. Gary enjoyed getting together with family and friends, talking and laughing together. He loved his neighbors who always looked out after him and is thankful he was able to share his life with them. Gary was the kindest, friendliest, strongest, and respected man a loving family could ever ask for. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart, Madison and Melanie Cox, Alaina Eaton, Jordan, Kassidy and Taylor Conrad. He was proud of them. Gary was married to his late wife Judith Eaton for 33 years. They enjoyed doing everything together.
Gary is survived by his children, Scott (Linda) Eaton, Cindy (Steve) Scherting; step-son, Jeff (Karen) Conrad; brothers, Jack (Linda), Randy (Cindy); sister, Debby (Late Greg Rimer); sister-in-laws, Lila Eaton, Judy Eaton; brother-in-law, Tom Leffler.
Preceded in death by his loving wife Judith; sisters, Charlene Howard and Karen Leffler; brothers, Kenny and Ronnie. Gary’s memory will be forever carried in our hearts and live on forever.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance MI. Cremation will follow.
