Gladys Rose Biggs

Gladys R. Biggs, 95, a resident of Bedford Township for 67 years, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. The daughter of Luther and Betsy (Rush) Heady, she was born November 27, 1929 in Gainesboro, TN.

A stay-at-home mom, she raised 7 children, and her house was always open for the grandchildren, nephews or nieces. On New Years Eve it was nothing for her to have 10-15 kids over to bring in the New Year. Gladys loved watching Western movies, fishing, and late-night Christmas shopping.

She will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Annie), Bobby and John (Brenda) Biggs; daughters, Gail (Jim) Roth and Helen (Dennis) Durbin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, son, Ricky; daughters, Linda Whaley, Sandra Hazard; grandsons, Bryan Miller, Kirk Whaley; great-grandson, Miles Shepherd; sister, Helen Casteels; and brother, Charles Heady.

Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
