James H. Mossburg

James H. Mossburg, 95 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his home under the care of hospice. The son of Henry and Jessie (Hamilton) Mossburg, he was born March 30, 1928 in Toledo, OH.

James worked as a dedicated bricklayer for SA Storer Masonry for many years and was a member of the Bricklayers Local 3. He was also a member of Lambertville United Methodist Church.

On November 21, 1947 he married Rosemyrle Breneman in Toledo. She preceded him in death April 15, 2002. In December, 2002 he married Gloria Sandusky, and she preceded him in death September 13, 2013.

Following retirement, Jim enjoyed spending time fishing, snowmobiling, and hunting in the Upper Peninsula. He also enjoyed spending time with family members that included sporting events where he met and befriended a lot of great people, all remembering his welcoming smile. He also developed his painting skills. James was devoted to his entire family with unconditional love.

James is survived by his loving son and daughters, Darrell (Sandi), Marlene Mossburg, Darla Ledington, Diane (Dave) Kosbab, and Cheryl (Rick) Chapman; as well as 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters, a son, grandsons, and great granddaughters.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private in Bedford Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Airport High School Athletic Boosters or Bedford Athletic Club. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Dr. Jacob.
