James Joseph Mielcarek

James J. Mielcarek, 80 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Fountain View of Monroe. He was a chemist in the medical field for many years.

The son of George and Lillian (Kasmatka) Mielcarek he was born January 4, 1944 in Monroe, MI. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

Being a chemist, James loved science. He enjoyed gardening and had a large garden in which he shared his many vegetables with his family and community. He also liked reading, especially sci-fi books. His favorite beverage was always a Pepsi. James loved his family.

He is survived by his siblings, Janice Moore, Mary Jo (Don) Chmielewski, David Mielcarek; nieces, Natalie Moore-Wickings, Christina Maley, Joseph Hunter, Sheri Krabach, Tiffany Mielcarek, Chris Mielcarek; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery where military honors will be conducted by Lambertville VFW Post #9656.
