James “Jim” R. Weislak, 81 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 in his home surrounded by his loving family. The son of Chester and Helen (Horen) Weislak Bollinger, he was born on July 16, 1944 in Toledo, OH.
Jim attended Macomber High School graduating in 1962. He married the love of his life, Ruth Wiczynski on May 21, 1966 and was happily married until her passing in 1999.
Jim had a passion for classic cars, often spending his weekends at car shows with his brother and sister-in-law. He also enjoyed watching old westerns as they were always playing on his tv. A recent snowbird, he split his time between his home in Temperance, MI and sunny Fort Myers, FL. He worked for Dana Corporation for many years and was a truck driver for the Toledo Blade for over 20 years retiring in 2006. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Worth his weight in gold, he was always available to pick them up from school and take them to practice or appointments on a daily basis.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Julie (Greg) Bushroe; grandchildren, Will, Cole, Blake and Faith Bushroe; great-grandson, Carter; siblings, Caroline Flaczynski, Marty (Jennie) Weislak and Joy (Jim) Wozniak; sister-in-law, Joanne Weislak Ginter, brother-in-law Tom Wiczynski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, James M. Weislak, brother, Kenny Weislak and parents, Chester Weislak; Delmer & Helen Bollinger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
