Janet Slaughterbeck

Janet Slaughterbeck, 68 years, of Toledo, OH passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in her home leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and love. She was born on November 19, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Slaughterbeck; her parents, Richard and Vivian(Foraker) Berning.

Janet and Dennis shared a special bond and a deep love for animals. Though they had no children, they devoted much of their affection to the pets they cherished over the years. She leaves behind two beloved cats who brought her comfort and companionship.

Janet will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she showed to family, friends, neighbors, and animals alike. Her caring nature touched many lives, and those who knew her will remember her as someone who always put others before herself and whose heart was filled with compassion.

She is survived by her brother, Ricky Berning, who will cherish the memories they shared throughout their lives together.

While Janet’s presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, love, and selfless care for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

May she rest in peace, reunited with Dennis and her parents, and may her memory be a blessing to those she leaves behind.
