Jerome Joseph Zachman, 85, of Temperance, MI passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in The Toledo Hospital. He enjoyed a long career in the remodeling and building industry. The son of Stanley and Mary (Wozniak) Zachman he was born April 12, 1930 in Toledo, OH. Jerome was a 1948 graduate of Macomber High School in Toledo.
July 28, 1951 he married his high school sweet heart Rosemary Poirier and shared more than 55 years together. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. Jerome was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. Jerome was a lifelong member and past president of the Stamp Collectors Club of Toledo. He enjoyed many years as an avid golfer and bowler. His greatest love was his family.
Jerome was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary. He is survived by his loving children, Debra (Kenneth) Perry, Janis (John) Howard and Linda Keys; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Hill, Mindy (Bruce) Welch, Kristen Machcinski, Brian Keys, Sarah (Brian) Foore, Jennifer (Tyler) Stuart, Jessica Howard (Fiancé Jonny); 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert, many nieces and nephews, and special family, Marcia Sevrence and Calvin (Maow) Keys.
We will forever be touched by the angels of The Toledo Hospital 7th floor and Emergency Room personnel, including Dr. Bruss, whose loving care of Jerome is forever appreciated.
Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Temperance, where he will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Lambertville VFW #9656.
