Joanne T. (DuBry) Kowalski, age 89, of Perrysburg, OH passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg. The daughter of Earl and Clara (Dressel) DuBry, she was born July 6, 1935, in Monroe, MI. Joanne began her education at the Bullock Schoolhouse which was a one room building teaching grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. In fourth grade she transferred to St. Anthony School after the school was first built. A 1953 graduate of Bedford High School, she continued her studies at the University of Toledo Technical College majoring in Business.
April 7, 1956, she married Jerome “Jerry” Kowalski in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2007, after 51 years of marriage.
Joanne retired from Daimler Chrysler aka Jeep Corporation in 1992 after
14 ½ years, holding various union and non-union positions in Material Handling.
She then owned and managed Mail Vault North in Toledo for 8 years before retiring again in 2000.
When her sons were younger, Joanne volunteered as a den mother for Pack 40 Boy Scouts of America in Lambertville, was a score keeper for her husband’s Little Leage Baseball teams and was very active in her church community. Jerry and Joanne moved to Reading, MI in 2000 and she remained there until 2010 when she moved back to the Toledo area. Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and spending time with family. She enjoyed making mission rosaries, reading, playing scrabble, cards, games, and watching the Detroit Tigers.
Joanne is survived by her children, Thomas (Gail), Charles, Michael (Susan) Kowalski, Anita (Robb) Heitzman, Sandra (Kevin) Weaks; grandchildren, Aaron (Dr. Renata), Adam (Stacey), Austen, Daniel (Dr. Amy), Chelsea and Charlie (Jackalynn) Kowalski, Tracy (Gregory) Miller, Justin Cygnor, Samantha (Anthony) Tomusko, Natalie and Cecelia Weaks; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Noah, Emily, Katlin and Logan Miller, Searcy, Teagan, Linkon, Finley, Andrew, Hayleigh; and sister, Mary Morgillo.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jacqueline Ammerman; daughter-in-law, Vicki Kowalski; brothers-in-law, Constantine Morgillo, Richard Kowalski, Richard Ammerman and Joseph Halicek; and sister-in-law, Romaine Kowalski.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 4, 2025, in All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, OH at 11:00 a.m. where she will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Temperance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Catholic Church or
Hospice of NW Ohio.
