John G. Vebenstad

John Gordon Vebenstad, 75 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away, April 10, 2023 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Gordon and Elizabeth (Hayes) Vebenstad he was born on July 16, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio.

A graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1966. John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War being honorably discharged in 1969. He married the love of his life Judy Roberts in 1973 who preceded him death in 2018. John was a member of the Bedford Lions Club and Lambertville VFW Post 9656. John retired from GM Powertrain in Toledo where he held several different jobs for over 34 years. He was an avid supporter of Bedford Sports and enjoyed camping, fishing and cars.

John is survived by his loving children, Amie Vebenstad and Jeffrey Vebenestad; grandchildren, Christina, Alex (Brandi), Riley (Shelby) and Madison; great-granddaughter, Karlee Grace; siblings, Lee Tow, Andrew Vebenstad and Daniel Vebenstad; 3 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Judy.

Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church 8330 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where he will lie in state in the narthex after 10:00 a.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post 9656.
