John I. Geiman, 78 years, of Clyde, OH passed away on July 18, 2023. He was born on August 26, 1944 to Myron and Shirley (Jones) Geiman in Monroe, MI. John retired as Master Sergeant and Supervisor of Jet Engine Mechanics from the Ohio Air National Guard from the 180th Tactical Fighter Wing in Toledo, OH after serving more than 37 years. In his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Lakeside, OH and his work family were special to him. He was an avid history buff who loved collecting historical memorabilia, he loved to travel, and was an avid reader. John had an Associate’s Degree from Monroe Community College. John married Carolyn Martin on March 8, 1991.
John is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Martin-Geiman; mother, Shirley Geiman; children, Eric (Dannette) Geiman, Drew (Michelle) Geiman, Christina Geiman and Zackary Ellenberger; grandchildren, Charlotte, Joie, Bradley and Christian; brother, Michael (Lynn) Geiman and sister, Sharon Stobe. John’s pet Poppy also survives. He is preceded in death by his father, Myron and brother-in-law, Roy Stobe. John had nieces and nephews who he was fond of. John loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments.
John traveled the world in the military. He had numerous citations for excellency as well as medals and campaign ribbons from across the globe for his service. John received the Expendiciary Forces Campaign ribbon for combat. John was proud of his military service to his country. John was a lifelong supporter and member of the American Legion and VFW and was a Monticello Mason in Clyde, OH.
A private family service and memorial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI on August 7, 2023 with Military Honors being conducted by the Lambertville VFW 9656. In lieu of flowers or memorials, please consider donating to your favorite veteran’s charity in John’s memory.
