John Joseph Cytlak, 81 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The son of Edwin and Stella (Thorzynski) Cytlak he was born on September 6, 1943 in Toledo, OH.
John graduated from Woodward High School where he played varsity basketball and attended the University of Toledo on a basketball scholarship. A U. S. Navy Veteran, John served from 1961 until 1967. He was a medical tech eventually being promoted to safety engineer at GM Powertrain (Hydramatic) for over 32 years retiring in 1997. John enjoyed hunting with his nephews up at their cabin in Barton City, MI. On January 26, 1980 John married Connie Lewandowski. He was an avid Lake Erie boater and fishermen.
John is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Connie; children, Brian (Dana) Cytlak, David (Barb) Cytlak and Shawn Cytlak; step-children, Cynthia Keller and Gary Muszynski; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Chris Beckstead and Patricia Driggs, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Cytlak.
Per John’s wishes, services were private. A special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Entombment was held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
