Josephine Ann Hintz, 70 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Monroe. The daughter of Doyle and Mildred (Swartz) Wimmenauer she was born April 17, 1944 in Ypsilanti, MI.
Josephine graduated from Central Catholic High School, Toledo and married the love of her life, Peter Herman Hintz, on November 28, 1964 at St. Francis de Sales Church, Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Josephine went back to school after being a stay at home mom at the age of 40. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked at the Lutheran Home for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Josephine liked to travel and loved going to church. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Erie.
She is survived by her loving children, Peter (Susan) Hintz, David (Lynn) Hintz, Mark Hintz, Michael Hintz; grandchildren, Sean (Shelly), Heidi, Mark Jr., Jacklynn, Kailey, Makenzie, Nathan, Stephen, Emily, Maria, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Noah Hintz; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Malcolm, Jaeden, and Jamarion; sisters, Mary Wimmenauer and Catherine Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Michael Wimmenauer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4 pm until 8 pm in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 12 noon in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Erie where she will lie in state after 11 am. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Church.
