Kathleen Louise Lorigan

Kathleen Louise Lorigan, 77 years, of Petersburg, MI was called home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2022. Just as she had hoped for, her final hours were spent at home surrounded by family that loved and cherished her. The daughter of Edward J. and Phyllis J. (Stone) Lorigan, she was born on May 21, 1945 in Toledo, OH.

A retired Jeep employee, she was a member of UAW Local 1435. For many years, she enjoyed bowling in various leagues with her family and friends. Kathy was an avid reader and greatly appreciated the people at the Monroe County Library System that helped keep her fully stocked with books in her final years. She loved being a grandparent and especially enjoyed being a great-grandma. Kathy enjoyed spending her time playing cards and board games with Emma, Ricky, Jaxon and Piper. Kathy was blessed to live out the end of her life at home, cared for by her devoted daughter, Ruth.

Kathy is survived by her three children; Ruth (Rick) Fultz, Edward J. (Anna) Furlong and Andrew T. (Norma) Furlong; six grandchildren, Ricky Tyler (Chelsea) Fultz, Raechel (Brian) Carr, Elizabeth (Alex) Ogren, Edward Furlong, Nicholas Furlong and Theresa Courts; 14 great- grandchildren; siblings, Nanci (Whitey) Jordan, Michael (Wanda) Lorigan, Daniel (Jeanine) Lorigan, Margaret (Kevin) Sullivan and Patricia (Chris) Turley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Phyllis; brother, Timothy P. Lorigan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI until the time of the funeral service at Noon. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.
