Lucille Charlotte Matzinger

Lucille Charlotte (Eighmey) Matzinger, 97 years, of Bellaire, MI formerly of Samaria, MI passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. The 3^rd child of 9 born to Delbert and Bernice (Goodman) Eighmey she was born on November 18, 1925 in Monroe, MI.

Lucille married the love of her life Bernard Matzinger on November 24, 1943. In her younger days she loved competition archery and camping.  She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed playing Pinochle with her siblings.  Most of all she loved being with her family.

Lucille is survived by her children, Wayne (Christine) Matzinger, Mancelona, MI and Deborah Matzinger, Caro, MI.; 4 grandchildren,  Craig (Sandra) Matzinger, Charleston, S.C.,  Michelle (John) Olson, Logansport, IN,  Jennifer (Kent) Epperhart, Walton, IN and Jarod (Shawna) Matzinger, Petersburg, MI; 15 great-grandchildren,  Derek, Cole, Ryan, Ethan, Cora, Karina and  Zane Epperhart,  Emily (Epperhart) Borck, Keegan and Natalia Matzinger,  Kiersten and Lauren Matzinger, Delaney Hoffman, Aliya and Nathan Olson; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Kinney and Phyllis Adams; brother, Philip Eighmey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; brothers, Warren and Clayton Eighmey; sisters, Arlene Navarre, Loretta Grodi and Patricia Harmon.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., officiated by her great-grandson, Derek Epperhart.
