Lucina DeWalt

Lucina Marie (Hamman) DeWalt, 65, of Lambertville, MI, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2021.Lucina was born in Temperance, Michigan where she met and married her husband, Anthony DeWalt, of 47 years.

Lucina completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Eastern Michigan University, starting her career as an educator. She had a long and successful career in the insurance industry before enjoying retirement. Lucina had a passion for helping others. She was a caregiver to many and often volunteered through United Way and her church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed planning trips for everyone. Lucina spent many weekends hosting parties and being at the lake as she loved spending time with her family, close friends, and grandchildren. She was extraordinarily kind-hearted and loved by all who knew her.

Lucina is survived by her loving husband, Anthony DeWalt; sons, Joshua (Corina) DeWalt, Andrew (Mackenzie) DeWalt, Michael (Alisha) DeWalt; grandchildren, Nathan DeWalt and Jordyn DeWalt; mother, Nancy Hamman; sisters and brothers, Kathleen Meyer, Robert Hamman, Edith Keeler, Daniel Hamman, and Eileen Hamman, many nieces and nephews and her lifelong, friend Lisa Mattimore.

Lucina was greeted in heaven by her father, Keith Hamman; sister, Karen Hamman and mother-in-law, Mary DeWalt.

Lucina loved her family and will be dearly missed. Her love will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM, July 3, 2021 at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church by Father LaCuesta. Visitation will take place one hour prior to mass. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Ebeid Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
