Mary Lou Good

Mary Lou Good, 85 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Hospice of NW Ohio, Toledo. The daughter of Frank and Virginia (McGovern) Bussdieker, she was born July 21, 1937 in Toledo. After her parents divorced, she was raised by her mother and step-father, Walter Kruse. A graduate of Libby High School, she looked forward to going to the Libby Luncheons with fellow alumni.

Mary Lou married Lonnie Good and together they had 2 children, Debra and Lon. She had worked at Napoleon Creamery and then as an office manager at Waste Management where she retired after 25 years.

A lifelong member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School there for over 25 years and was also a member of the Healing Ministry team. She always welcomed visitors and provided “goodies” to be shared after service.

Mary was a woman with strong faith, a sense of humor, and a love for people and animals. She modeled forgiveness and acceptance for all. She valued her family and enjoyed sharing time and holiday activities. Many referred to her as “Aunt Mary”, “Grandma Mary”, or “Grandma G”.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (George) Reis; sister, Sally Wing; brother, Timothy Kruse; grandchildren, Timothy, Nicole, Tamara, Matthew, Alicia, Lon Jr.; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Lon Good, her parents, and siblings, Fred, John, Jerry, and Stanley Bussdieker; and sister, Betty Kruse. She was loved and will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 745 Walbridge Ave., Toledo, OH. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. at the church; service at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Lucas Lutheran Church.
