Melissa Lynn Matthews, 40 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024. The daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Estep) Matthews she was born July 26, 1983 in Oregon, OH. Melissa was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 2001. She had worked as a manager in the banking industry.

Melissa liked going to Hard Rock and Roll concerts with her friends. She loved watching her boys participate in Karate and band performances and her brother’s sports games.

She is survived by her sons, Kyle and Tyler Butler; father, Bob (stepmother-Beth) Matthews; siblings, Brook (Steve) Sparks, Madeleine Matthews (Logan), Wesley Matthews (Emma); nephews, Landon and Levi Sparks; aunts and uncles, Tom Matthews, John (Sue) Matthews, John Estep; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; grandparents, Andy (Rose) Estep, John (Ann) Matthews; and aunt, Monnie Hernedez.

 

Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.bedfordfuneralchapel.com.

Melissa was a sweet and gentle soul, funny and compassionate with an unexpected taste for the heavier side of music; she always knew how to make me laugh and smile. My husband and I were saddened to hear of Melissa' s sad passing. We want you to know that we saw Melissa at the bank to try to obtain a car loan for our daughter .She was very helpful and very pleasant and knowledgeable about finances.
