Michael Dennis Poniedzialek

Michael D. “Pondzy” Poniedzialek, 75 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 in The Toledo Hospital. The son of Edward and Dorothy (Sauer) Poniedzialek, he was born on December 17, 1949 in Detroit, MI. March 6, 1981 he married Shelly Moore.

Michael loved fishing, golfing, bowling, and camping, especially at Camp Diclair, and sometimes boating! He liked feeding his squirrels and was missing his “little Starsky”. Not a real sports “nut”, he did love the Michigan Wolverines when they beat the Ohio State Buckeyes! Michael really got on board and became a Lions fan this year. He also loved watching certain cop shows.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Shelly; sons, Derek Poniedzialek, Nathan Roark; daughters, Traci Poniedzialek, Amy (Paul Bomia) Roark; grandchildren, Derek, Jr., Calin, Marchelle, Katie (Remington), Torey (John) Buckley, Tyler (Haley), and Trever; great-grandchildren, Leighton, Riggs, Maddyx, Jameson, Bennett; brothers, Richard (Shirley), Ed “Frank” (Linda); sisters, Kat Osborne, Linda (Curt) Cappuccilli; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Michael will be dearly missed by his many dear friends. The family wishes to give many thanks to all of you for your care and loving support during his long ordeal.

Cremation has taken place and per Mike’s wishes there will be no services, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
