Michael Patrick Howard

Michael “Mike” Patrick Howard, 48 years, of Toledo, OH, passed away at home on Monday, January 22, 2024. The son of Diana Howard and Michael Smith, Mike was born on July 29, 1975 in Sylvania, Ohio.

Mike worked as a flooring and tile contractor and was known for his dedicated work ethic and strong love for his family. He enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing and golf. He liked watching his favorite football teams, Ohio State and the Atlanta Falcons; watching motocross and supercross races; and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was always known for spoiling his grandsons with small gifts and candy at each visit. His generosity was felt by everyone, as he was always offering to help people with projects and fixes around the house. He loved to joke around and enjoyed playful banter. His smile and contagious laugh would light up every room he was in. He ended every conversation with I love you and always told his loved ones how much he appreciated and cared for them. His light and love will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his mother, Diana Howard; children, Paige (Stephen) Betcher and Tyler (Devon) Howard; grandchildren, Kolson and Grady Betcher; brother, Jason Smith; sister, Stephanie Smith; niece Kylei Smith; and nephews, Keigyn Smith, and Blake and James Colmenero; and many close aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Smith; and his grandparents Matthew and Victoria (Piddock) Howard, with whom he will be laid to rest.

A memorial gathering will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. A brief service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
