Patricia Ann Brower, 80 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. A Catholic Elementary school teacher for 35 years, she retired in 2005.
The daughter of Leo and Geraldine (Berrie) Kruse she was born March 19, 1942 in Toledo, OH. Patricia attended St. James and St. Agnes Grade School, graduating from St. Ursula High School in 1960. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in 1964 from Mary Manse College. While attending college she worked for SS Milwaukee Clipper as a soda jerk during the summer seasons. After college, Patricia began her teaching career at St. Agnes Grade School in Toledo. She had also taught at Reeths-Puffer Grade School in N. Muskegon, MI, Whitehall Elementary School in Whitehall, MI, St. James in Montague, MI and she then taught at Little Flower in Toledo for 28 years. Patricia taught CCD classes for 10 years at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
A very giving and generous person, she volunteered an enormous amount of her time helping others. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, scrapbooking, craft shows, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her loving children, Kristin (Kelly) Brower, Susan (Joseph) Kujda, Joseph (Jennifer) Brower; brother, Michael Kruse; sister, Rita Schoen; grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Hosley, Julia (Chris) Woodward, Adam (Jenna) Letson, Jakob Letson, Kaytee (Brian) Fisher, Matthew (Katlynn) Brower, Nicholas, Alexander, Jonah, Samuel Kujda, David, Daniel, Delaney Brower; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Brower; grandson, Alex Letson; and great-granddaughter, Elliott Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. Burial will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
It's hard to quantify just how altruistic and not self-serving of a person she was. Everything she did was for other people in the name of love, she did not have a selfish bone in her body. You honestly could not have asked for a better Grandmother, and I'll thank her in my prayers everyday for giving me a mother who is similarly self-less and amazing.
I'm sad you are gone Grandma, but I know you'll always be right with us now. You truly are a saint.
