Ralph A. Wenski, 91 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 in his home. The only son of Walter and Gertrude (Soika) Wenski, he was born November 13, 1932 in Detroit, MI. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. A staunch Republican, Ralph was 100 % Polish and very proud of that fact.
He had a successful career in finance and real estate for many years. In 1976 he married Patricia Ann Bragiel, and they made their home in Temperance. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2023 after 47 years together.
Ralph played the piano accordion all his life. A devout member of the Catholic Church, he was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Temperance, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus Council #8902, served as Commander and was a 4th degree member in the Knights of Columbus #0488 Raisin River Assembly and served in the color Corp.
An avid Detroit Red Wings fan, he and Patti had season tickets for many years. He was also a diehard Tigers and Lions fan and loved watching the games. They enjoyed dancing and socializing and were members of several organizations over the years such as The Toledo Area Polka Society, Detroit Federation of Musicians since 1962, and the VFW.
Ralph loved the sun and hot weather and especially traveling. He along with Patti went on several religious pilgrimages, travelled to Rome/Pompei, Austria, Germany, Poland, Canada, Mexico, and all over the United States. A lover of animals, he always had pets his whole life.
After retirement, he and Patti worked as greeters at Bedford Funeral Chapel for nearly 20 years. He also volunteered at many places helping out all over the Toledo area, not just within his organizations, but in his own free time.
A god-fearing man, Ralph loved Christmas time; his faith was 2nd to none. He so loved Jesus and Mother Mary.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Carol Wood;3 granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by the OLMC Knights of Columbus followed by the presentation of the Chalice by the 4th degree Raisin River Assembly. The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. where there will be visiting in the Narthex after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post #9656.
Memorial donations may be made to the church or the Knights of Columbus.
