Richard I. “Dick” Bacome, 77 years, of Monroe, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH.
The son of Ora and Coranna (Billings) Bacome he was born April 27, 1945 in Temperance, MI.
A 1963 graduate of Bedford High School, he retired from Ford Motor Company. Richard had also worked at Sharon Manufacturing, Libby Glass, and was a Michigan State Policeman.
Dick loved to do small engine repair, carving duck decoys, and was an avid guitar player. He worked diligently to keep up with 3 acres. It was a joy. He was a member of the FFA.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Shirley (Daniels); children, Chris Bacome of Toledo, OH, Christine (John) Siler of Petersburg, MI, Rick Bacome of FL, Sheryl (Brian) Saylor of Petersburg, MI, Bill (Ericka) Bacome of Temperance; sisters, Margret Beverly, Patricia (Gary) Prochnow; brother, Thomas Bacome; step-children, Kelly Tipton; Lenny Wilkens, Pam Bruns, Bobbie DiCarlo 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle, MI.
