Rick “”Happy”” Francis, 67 years, of Temperance, MI passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in his home. He retired in 2015 after many years in the vending business. The son of Richard and Rose (Brabham) Francis he was born September 19, 1949 in Toledo, OH. Rick was a 1967 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. October 13, 1972 he married Barb Knapp in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
He enjoyed rebuilding and cruising car shows in his classic cars. Rick lived a life of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. He always focused on the positive things in life which is where he got his nickname “”Happy.”” His family and friends were most important to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barb; sons, Nick (Christie), Andy (Lindsey), Matt Francis; mother, Rose Francis; grandchildren, Amani, Eli, and Ava; and sister, Christine Kennoy. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Darlene Francis.
Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where a scripture service and sharing of memories will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Toledo, where there will be visiting after 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow.
Memorial donations may be made to Promedica Hospice or St. Pius X Catholic Church.
