Richard J. Slovak, 81 years, of Lambertville, MI passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. Richard was a retired truck driver, working for over 40 years.
The son of Martin and Agnes (Hudecek) Slovak he was born December 15, 1939 in Toledo, OH.
A graduate of Whitmer High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.
A man with a great deep voice, a big personality, and a huge smile, he could talk to anyone. Dick enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles, boating, and spending time at the cottage. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance , the Knights of Columbus 8902, 4th degree Knights of Columbus Raisin River Assembly 0488, Catholic War Vets, American Legion Post #192, Sylvania Moose Lodge 1597 and the Southern Michigan Sportsmen’s Club.
He is survived by his loving children, Jennifer (David) Disbennett, Julie (James) Vincent, Monica (Robert passed away Jan 2021) Goodrich; step-children, Jamie (Terri) Kuebbeler, Denise (Scott) Usiondek, Dawn(John) Le Pla; sister, Carol (Richard) Jakubec; brother, Marty (Angie) Slovak; special friend, Beth; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Klosinski); brother, Joseph Slovak; and step-son, Michael Kuebbeler.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where the Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. followed by the presentation of the chalice.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Lambertville VFW #9656.
