Rita Rae Batt, 79 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 in her home. The daughter of William and Doris (Abernathey) Round she was born December 23, 1946 in Toledo. She was a 1964 graduate of Whitmer High School.
Rita had worked many years as a unit clerk in the I.C.U. at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, OH and she was also a child advocate for Monroe County family court.
She looked forward to playing word games, Yahtzee, cards, and enjoyed the togetherness of the family. Rita was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Toledo.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley “Stan” whom she married May 1, 2006; children, Pamela (Ryan) Moses, Tamela Steffin, Jeff (Marie) Bugert, Greg (Laura) Bugert; step-daughter, Kayliene (Drew) Schweitzer; grandchildren, Tony (Ashley) Steffin, Jeffrey Bugert; great-grandchildren, Cole, Milee, Layla; sister, Ellen (Doug) Grames, brother, James “Jay” Round; special friends, Jessica and Julia Centeno and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris (Charles) Abernathy, father, William (Jennette) Round, and brother, William “Bill” Round.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their exceptional care they gave to Rita and our family during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
