Rita Mae Kortas, age 84 years, of Temperance, MI passed away June 25, 2017 in the Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH. The daughter of Charles and Eva (Richter) Henry she was born on September 16, 1932 in Riga, MI.
Rita married Melvin (Jim) Kortas on June 2, 1951. She loved going to the KC Campground. Proud member of the Lambertville VFW Post 9656 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping at all the Dollar Stores.
Rita is survived by her loving children, Micheal (Candi), Thomas (Mary Kay), Deborah (Patrick) Kelly, Evelyn (Ed) Clevenger, Julia (John) Marcheese, James, John (Krisie), Mary (William) Leslie; numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin and parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. where she will lie in state in the narthex after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery Temperance, MI. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Hickory Ridge of Temperance or Promedica Ebeid Hospice. Online condolences may be shared at www.bedfordfuneralchapel.com
