Robert H.S Bomyea, 80 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 in Toledo Hospital. The son of Robert and Caroline (Brown) Bomyea, he was born May 22, 1945 in Monroe, MI.
Bob was an active guy. He was always on the go as he liked to be involved in as much as he could. On Monday and Tuesday of most weeks you could find Bob delivering meals on wheels. On Wednesday he was at the church he loved Mt Carmel preparing God Works meals for the community. Thursday and Friday was reserved for Golf, calling bingo or some other activity with friends or family. Bob loved cooking meals for others and he could often be found moonlighting at a local restaurant to fund his camping trips and golf excursions.
Bob loved sports and was a fan of the Lions, Tigers, Wolverine’s, MudHens and especially the Red Wings. His favorite sport was golf. Learning to play with just a 5 iron and a putter. Golf became a lifelong passion and he enjoyed playing with friends, family and his favorite partner, his wife, Suzanne.
A proud member of Temperance MI OLMC Knights of Columbus, Bob emerged as a natural leader. He held local and state office for many years with the Knights. Bob enjoyed attending State Conferences at Mackinac Island and the many friends he made in service to the Church
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Monroe Jefferson. Where he played football and baseball for the Bears while in high school. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force where he enjoyed a career of over 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, Bob and his family had the privilege of seeing the World spending time at various locations in Canada, Europe and the USA.
Bob was survived by his sons, Robert and Michael, daughter in-law, Alane Johnson Bomyea; grandchildren, Justan, Heather (Edwin) Yancey; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Asia Yancey, Gabrielle and Sam Biegajski and sister, Doris Bomyea.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne (Gotha) Bomyea, infant daughter, Karen and his parents.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Our lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where a visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI. Cremation has taken place.
