He was preceded in death by his grandson, Bradley Hughes; his parents, Robert and Caroline Fisher; and his brothers, Harold Fisher and Gary Fisher.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1967 as an Engineman aboard the USS Holland (AS-32) and the USS Canopus (AS-34). He was honorably discharged and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
Robert’s love for the outdoors and adventure was a big part of who he was. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed following flat track and dirt track racing. He had a passion for racing sportsman cars, was highly skilled at target shooting, and loved friendly competition in horseshoes and cornhole. Some of his favorite times were spent exploring the Arizona mountains in his side-by-side with friends and family, and he also enjoyed flying his ultralight. He had a special love for animals, especially his dogs, who were always close to his heart. These passions reflected his free spirit and the way he truly enjoyed life. He was also known for his playful sense of humor and never missed a chance for a friendly slap on the back or shoulder bump as he passed by. Above all, his family always came first, and he deeply treasured the time he spent with those he loved.
Cremation will take place, and per his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
