Rosemary Cox, 89 years, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025. Born in Toledo and raised in Ottawa Lake, MI, Rosemary was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Esther (Ryan) Wilczynski. She married Daniel Cox in September of 1954 and spent over 70 years exemplifying the meaning of true love and devotion.
Dan lovingly referred to Rosemary as “Honeybee” because she was always busy as a bee taking care of others and keeping the tidiest house. She especially enjoyed baking for her family. This was a hobby that she learned from her Mom. Her specialties included the cutest frosted Santa sugar cookies at Christmas, amazing cinnamon rolls for Christmas and Easter mornings, popcorn balls and caramel corn for Halloween and the most perfect and delicious seasonal fruit pies always made with extra love.
In addition to being Dan’s Honeybee, Rosemary was also a wonderful Mom, an extra special Nana/Grandma and a cherished “Aunt Rosie” to her many nieces and nephews. When she was not baking for them, she was most likely on the phone talking to her family. She was the best family messenger, passing along updates and just checking in with her family. She always made everyone feel special and never ended a call with her family without expressing her love.
Rosemary was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Temperance for 70 years. She was a proud member of the Christian Mothers group, regularly donating her delicious baked goods to funerals and church events over the years.
Every act of service Rosemary did was done with a smile. Whether it was delivering baked goods to the church, making hot chocolate for her grandkids when they came to visit, or cutting out newspaper articles and mailing them to friends or family, it was done with a smile on her face. She truly enjoyed sharing joy and love with everyone she encountered. This was evident even last year when she was awarded the “Best Smile” award at Kingston Care Center.
In addition to her husband, Dan, Rosemary is survived by her five children, Tom (Bessie), Terry (Lea), Jayne (Tom) Cromer, Julie (Jeff) Turi, and Jodi (Brad) Augustyniak, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rosemary leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, patience and grace. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania and Regency Hospital for the compassionate care that they provided to her.
