Sherri Diehl

Sherri Lynn Diehl, 56 years, of Temperance, MI passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Ebeid Hospice. A respiratory therapist, Sherri worked at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI. She was born July 10, 1964 to David Porter and Brenda (Dugger) Blackwood in Lawrenceburg, TN. 

A 1982 Woodward High School graduate, she received her associate’s degree from Monroe County Community College in 2001, her bachelor’s degree in 2006 and her master’s degree in 2008 from Spring Arbor University.

Sherri was a fan of  Michigan Wolverine’s football and the Detroit Tigers baseball. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports, going to movies, concerts, and walks at the park with her son and daughter.  She was a member of Bedford Alliance Church where she served as a greeter.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Brenda (Rick) Blackwood; father, David Porter; daughter, Ashley (Mike) Messenger; son, Dylan Diehl; step-daughter, Jessica Anderson; brother, David (Tracy) Porter, grandchildren, Ricky Mitchell, Everett Thomas, Dakota Messenger, Zach Anderson, Teyonna Anderson; nephews and nieces, David, Brandon, Jimmie, Brianna, Chrystal, and great-niece and nephew, Rilynn and Boyd. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grady and Aulene Dugger and Clarence and Bertha Porter.

Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Erie Union Cemetery.
