Pam Nelson wrote “There are those whose whole life is a blessing, not just a moment, a smile or a word. They make all around them feel special, no person ignored or unheard.” This is how Thomas made us all feel and how he treated everyone he met. Thomas passed November 22, 2023, in Naples, FL surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 23, 1941 to Thomas and Loretta (Jacob) McGreevy who preceded him in death. He served six years in the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge he worked for United Parcel services for 31 years in various positions, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed board gaming with family at holiday parties and with his friends in Ohio and Florida. He had an extended family in the gaming community in Southwest FL. He could also be found fishing off the Naples Pier.
He is survived by his three children, Lauren Welly, Thomas McGreevy, and Nichole (Michael) Lee; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Steven Welly, Lillian, Tyler (Jori), Macie, and Chase Lee; five great- grandchildren, Kinsley, Tessa, Braxton, Jackson, and Renn. He is also survived by his sister, Karan (Skip) Crimmins; brother, John (Jill) McGreevy and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lillian McGreevy; sister, Patrica Russ and granddaughter, Madison Lee.
A memorial gathering will be held on December 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church 4605 St Anthony Rd, Temperance, MI 48182 where a memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Bedford Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Military honors being conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post 9656.
