Watch Video TributeThomas “Tom” R. Russell Sr., 83 years, of Temperance, MI passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Daniel and Ruth (Albright) Russell he was born on June 21, 1939 in Sylvania, OH.
Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era. He enjoyed being a Sergeant of Arms at the American Legion Post 132 where he enjoyed his fellow vets.
Tom was a graduate from the University of Toledo with a bachelor degree in accounting. Tom worked in accounting at various facilities including, Dura, Freightway, Floyds Rigging and Machine Movers in Adrian, MI and the Sisters of Notre Dame in Toledo. He also taught Quick Books at Whitmer adult night school.
He loved his Ford T-Bird cars and had his 1960 T-Bird completely restored and belonged to the Vintage T-Bird club of America.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sandy (Mical); his son, Tom Jr. (Lauri) Russell; sister, Nancy (Michael) Duda as well as several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James and Paul Russell.
Most of all Tom was a devout Christian and loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 1690 Sterns Road Temperance, MI at 11:00 a.m. where visiting will begin after 10:00 a.m. with Military Honors conducted by the Lambertville VFW Post #9656 following the service. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or K9 Partners for Patriots, 15322 Aviation Loop Drive Brooksville, FL 34604.
