Viola F. Redding, 90 years old, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Sylvania, OH.
The daughter of Giuseppe and Genoveffa (DePietro) D’Angelo she was born February 12, 1933 in Toledo, OH. Viola was a 1952 graduate of Central Catholic High School. On July 9, 1955 she married Bill Redding, and he preceded her in death.
Viola had worked as an administrative secretary for Sheller Globe Company until the birth of her 3 daughters.
Born of immigrant parents, she was especially proud of her Italian heritage. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, attending church, listening to opera music, playing bridge, and beating anyone, who dared to challenge her, in a game of Chinese checkers.
More than anything though, Viola loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and watching them have families of their own. Her family was her pride and joy.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jan (Buzzy) Holzer, Mary (Bob) Lehr; son-in-law, Matt (Jen) Fischer; grandchildren, Daniel (Julia) Lehr, Ben (Olivia) Lehr, Meghan (Cory) Clausius, Thomas (Samantha) Holzer, Taylor (Mike) Fedorchak, Allie (William) Threet, Chris Lehr, Aleah Fischer, Megan Fischer; 9 great-grandchildren, Rylie, Will, Francesca, Tommy, Fraser, Luca, Henry, Leo, and Grant; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Betsy Fischer and brother, Anthony (Eleanor) D’Angelo.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in the Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance. Burial will be private in Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo, OH at a later date.
